The VG 4 InLine Sewer and Septic Vent Pipe Filter fits on a 4 inch pipe. The printing on the pipe will read 4 inches, and the inside diameter will be 4 inches. The outside diameter will measure 4.5 inches. Your vent pipes may be different sizes, don't assume they are all the same. Measure carefully.
